Accountant / Controller– Motorcycle Dealership
Cyclewise Inc is a leading motorcycle dealership, committed to excellence in sales, service, parts, and customer experience. We are seeking an experienced accountant-controller to oversee accounting and financial operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strategic decision-making within the dealership.
Position Overview:
The Controller will be responsible for all accounting and finance-related functions, including processing transactions, financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and forecasting. This role is essential in maintaining financial stability, ensuring profitability, and optimizing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Finance:
Process all accounting activities, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll, and reconciliations
Manage month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring timely financial reporting
Maintain accurate financial statements and reports utilizing Lightspeed DMS
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations and cash drawer deposits
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial policies, audits and industry standards
Handle floorplan financing, all aspects of dealership inventory and DMV paperwork
Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for cost control and profitability improvement
Work closely with department heads and the General Manager to support financial decision-making.
Maintain relationships with banks, vendors, and financial institutions
Process Improvement & Compliance:
Uphold internal controls to safeguard dealership assets
Implement best practices for financial operations and dealership accounting processes
Ensure compliance with warranty, industry regulations, and tax requirements
Optimize dealership workflow and financial systems to enhance efficiency
Develop financial strategies to support dealership growth and profitability
Collaborate with sales, service, and operations teams to streamline financial processes
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and Finance
5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management (powersports or automotive industry preferred)
Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
Ability to learn and use dealership financial software -Lightspeed
Proficiency in financial reporting, tax compliance
Experience managing floorplan financing and dealership inventory accounting
Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
