Addison County Economic Development Corporation (ACEDC) is excited to share the 2026 Regional Priority Project list. This year's list includes projects in Bristol, Vergennes, Monkton, Orwell, and Middlebury as well as the countywide completion of the Maple Broadband fiber optic network.

As the Regional Development Corporation (RDC) for Addison County, ACEDC manages the RPP process on an annual basis. From January through October of each year, ACEDC solicits project submittals through a Project Information Form. ACEDC then convenes a scoring committee in December comprised of business and community leaders from throughout the county to score submittals and compile the final ranking of the top 10 projects. The final list is then shared with State and Federal agencies to use in making funding decisions throughout the following year.

Some recent projects in Addison County that have successfully secured public funding after being included in the RPP list are The Friends of Vergennes Opera House All Access Project, Stonecrop Meadows, the Otter Creek Childcare Center expansion project, the Grand Senior Living expansion project, the ACORN Food Hub, the Ilsley Library renovation and expansion project, the Vermont Livestock Slaughter & Processing modernization project, and the Vergennes North housing project.

"Over the last five years, the RPP list has proven to be a critical tool for securing public funding for major projects throughout Addison County. ACEDC is privileged to have the responsibility of stewarding this process, and we are thankful to the 2026 scoring committee, which included Phil Summers of the Addison County Chamber of Commerce, Adam Lougee of the Addison County Regional Planning Commission, Sarah Morris of the Basin Harbor Club, Courtney Radford of Bristol CORE, and Dave Castle of Mechanical Advantage," said ACEDC Executive Director Alex Armani-Munn, "We will continue to leverage the RPP list to secure funding for projects that improve quality of life and that help to attract and retain businesses in Addison County. Moving forward, we hope to increase the geographic distribution of projects included on the list to ensure it is representative of the entire county."

To meet its goal of increasing geographic distribution of projects on the RPP list, ACEDC strongly encourages project submittals from all municipalities throughout Addison County.

Anybody interested in learning more about the process and submitting a project for consideration can reach out to Alex Armani-Munn at aarmani-munn@addisoncountyedc.org.
